Oh boy, will this one get ya going, trust me! Lenny the loan shark lends
you $10,000 to get you started, there is 4 planets, and you have to travel around buying
and selling stock. Sound easy? Hahaha. For one thing there are space pirates, that can
even attack you while you're on a planet; and also the market isn't always open when you
arrive at a new destination. This means that while it cost you fuel, oxygen, and possible
mishaps to get there, you can't sell your stock at a profit, because without the market
being open, it isn't updated, therefore, the stock prices don't change. There is also
computer virus, black holes, and the protection for all this is at opposite ends of your
galaxy. You can, if you can figure out how to get ahead, upgrade your ship, but so far I'm
lucky to keep my head above water, let alone upgrading.
However, when you start to play the game, give yourself a treat, and read the directions.
[To give you an idea of what fun they are, Lenny the Loanshark, makes his base of
operations on a planet called Yeranus!] Whoever wrote them has a lively sense of humor,
and at least until I started to get the idea of how to play, they were more fun than the
game. After the usual 3-4
you-know-you're-going-to-lose-cause-you-got-no-idea-what-you're-doing-but-how-else-can-you-learn,
then the game not only starts getting to be fun, it also gets somewhat hair-pulling, while
you try to figure out what is a good strategy, while being attacked by those acts of god
disasters.
